Preparation prior to the Spray tan treatment

Prior to the application of a SUN Laboratories spray tan the skin must be fully exfoliated. Shower using the Exfoliating Body Gel to remove any dead skin cells, avoid shower creams or gels with an oil base as they can leave a film on the skin, which may act as a barrier when applying the fake tan.

Do not apply a moisturiser before an application of Sun Laboratories Spray Tan as this may also act as a barrier on the skin surface and will dilute the effects of the active ingredient known as DHA tanning agent.

DO’s and DON’Ts pre-application / day of Spray Tan treatment

• DO NOT use fragrance related products i.e. deodorant, fragrance, body lotion or moisturiser
• DO exfoliate the skin using a ‘non greasy’ exfoliating product
• DO NOT wear makeup
• DO NOT use oil based shower creams or gels
• DO NOT shave or wax (both shaving and waxing must be done at least 24 hours before the application)
• DO NOT come into contact with water for at least 8 hours after the application
• DO wear loose fitting dark clothes

SPRAYING TECHNIQUE

• Hold the gun around 8 – 10 inches away from the body
• Whilst pulling back the trigger on the gun, move the gun from left to right across the body
• Starting with the chest, work down the body, down the fronts of the arms, down both legs and feet and back up again to the starting point.
• Standing to the side, work down the inside of the arm from the under arm, down the side of the body, down the leg and back up again to the underarm.
• Standing with back facing, work down from the neck, down the back, down the backs of the arms, down both legs and back up again.
• Standing to the opposite side, work down the inside of the arm from the under arm, down the side of the body, down the leg and back up again to the underarm.
• Facing forward again, work across the neck and shoulders.
• Finally work across the facial area, front and both sides.

Allow 5-10 minutes for the fake tan to dry before putting clothes on. This should help to prevent the self tan from rubbing off.

For best results leave the spray tan solution on the skin for a minimum of 8 hours before showering off the residue, if possible leave the self tan on overnight to allow the active ingredient to work with the skin to achieve the most long lasting and natural looking fake tan.

Maintaining a spray tan

Once the initial application of Sun Laboratories spray tanning solution has been showered off, maintain by applying Tan Moisturiser Maintainer daily to help to prolong the life of the self tan and to ensure it fades evenly.

To achieve a long lasting result, use the Tan Moisturiser Maintainer and repeat the spray tan treatment every 7 days.
